Thankfully, I went to a boarding school, and being surrounded by other females gave me exposure into the differences of how dysmenorrhea handles people's bodies.
In all fairness, in hindsight, I see that she didn't know any better...
I also remember that there was this ideology back in school that some people had it worse because their bodies had low pain tolerance, or something about prostaglandin levels. Oh the foolishness.
